Because when you help one miniature horse here, you are changing a life forever.

The So Cal Mini Horse Sanctuary exists for one very specific and very underserved purpose:
the rescue, protection, and lifelong care of miniature horses.
Even in 2026, there are very few sanctuaries in the country that specialize in minis—especially ones that meet the highest possible standards of care.

That’s why one of our proudest accomplishments is our accreditation with the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS).
This is the highest level of sanctuary accreditation available. It is  not easy to earn, it requires rigorous inspections, ongoing compliance,  and recertification every three years—and we have proudly maintained  this standard for over a decade.

Miniature horses end up in rescue situations for many of the same heartbreaking reasons as dogs and cats:

• Overbreeding
   
• Neglect and abuse
   
• Abandonment
   
• Seniors with medical needs
   
• Owners who are no longer able or willing to care for them
   

But unlike dogs and cats, there are very few rescues equipped to help miniature horses properly.
That’s where we step in—and we don’t step out.

When a miniature horse comes to our Sanctuary:

• Their life is changed forever
   
• They are under our care and protection for life
   
• If adopted, they are placed under a strict contract that prohibits selling, breeding, or giving them away
   
• If an adopter can no longer care for them, the mini must return to us
   
• We conduct home checks and ongoing follow-ups to ensure their long-term safety and wellbeing
   

They are never disposable.
They are never forgotten.
They are always protected.

Your support helps us provide:

• Proper veterinary care and medications
   
• Safe, species-appropriate housing
   
• Sanctuary care for seniors and special-needs minis
   
• Continued property improvements and infrastructure
   
• Future vet rooms, treatment spaces, and minor-procedure areas

We are 100% volunteer-run.
No one is paid.
100% of your donation goes directly to the care of the miniature horses.
