Our Vision for the So Cal Mini Horse Sanctuary Vet Room:
As our Sanctuary continues to grow, so does the need for a dedicated veterinary and medical care space that allows us to operate at the highest level for the animals who depend on us
every single day.
Our vision is to create a fully functional Vet Room and medical supply center where our veterinarians and team can safely perform procedures, organize medications, store vitamins
and minerals, maintain emergency supplies, and provide around-the-clock care for our rescued miniature horses and Sanctuary residents.
The exciting part is that we already have the building.
By being resourceful and utilizing an existing 24’ x 8’ structure already located on the property, we are able to dramatically reduce costs while still creating a clean, professional, and highly functional medical space that supports our Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries standards.
The remaining needs include:
• Concrete and drainage
• Covered veterinary work area
• Roll-up access door
• Electrical and water infrastructure
• Cabinetry, refrigeration, and medical storage
• Wash-down and sanitation area
for procedures and emergency care
• Wind-conscious structural improvements and finish work
Rather than building an entirely new veterinary structure that could easily exceed $50,000–$70,000+, we believe this project can become a reality for approximately $40,000 by thoughtfully repurposing and upgrading a structure we already own.
This approach allows us to build responsibly, sustainably, and efficiently while still creating a professional veterinary workspace capable of supporting emergency care, treatments, supply management, and daily Sanctuary operations 24 hours a day.
This Vet Room would be a major step forward for So Cal Mini Horse Sanctuary — helping us continue providing exceptional care, improving emergency response capabilities, supporting
our veterinarians, and ensuring the long-term health and safety of the animals who call this Sanctuary home.
Every improvement we make is built with the animals in mind — and with deep gratitude for every person who believes in this mission and helps us continue moving forward.

We are honored to announce that the So Cal Mini Horse Sanctuary has once again achieved full accreditation with the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS).

This recognition represents the highest standard of excellence within the sanctuary community, and we are deeply proud to continue meeting their rigorous criteria for animal care, safety, ethics, and operational integrity.

Our re-accreditation reflects the commitment, heart, and tireless dedication of our volunteer team. Every day, our volunteers show up with compassion and purpose — ensuring that each miniature horse and sanctuary animal receives the safety, care, and dignity they deserve. Their devotion is the foundation of our mission and the reason we continue to grow, heal, and make a difference.

At So Cal Mini Horse Sanctuary, our love for these animals guides everything we do. Being acknowledged once again by GFAS reinforces the importance of our mission and reminds us that we are truly impacting every life we touch — both animal and human.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our volunteers, supporters, donors, and the entire GFAS
